What's Been Happening?
So ... what's been happening since I last posted? Well a few things to be honest.
Holiday
I've booked a two week break to the Dominican Republic. Really looking forward to it, as it's somewhere I've always wanted to go. From pictures it looks really nice and I like the idea of walking down the beach with the Palm tree's and clear blue sea.
Football
The season kicked off around 3 weeks ago, signed for Bebside FC. We have a excellent squad and the great thing is that all the lads that have signed, I've either played against them in the past, or played in the same team as them in the past ... made it really easy for the team to come together and morale is high. So far it's 3 wins in 3 for us ... only downside is that one of the lads broke his foot yesterday so it looks like a long time out.
XBOX 360
After months of wanting one, I finally stopped being a tight git and bought one. Wish I'd bought one sooner. I've only been playing Call Of Duty 2, and mostly online ... the online side of things really make the XBOX 360. XBOX Live is fantastic ... love the idea of just online for a quick blast of COD2. The other good thing about it, is that with some games, it automatically goes online if it detects a connection ... so you can be blasting around in Single player mode, then suddenly, your blasting around in Multi-Player mode. It's great.
Plasma & Surround Sound
I bought a 42" Panasonic Plasma and also got some Surround Sound speakers to go with it. I bought 2 Floorstanders, 1 Centre Speaker and 2 Bookshelf speakers for the rear. All are made by Eltax and the sound and quality is excellent. I purchased a AMP to drive them all off eBay. They make watching movies a very pleasurable experience.HD and surround sound is a must for XBOX 360. Porn in HD is great too.
Emm ... a few other things I can't remember
I'm sure other stuff has happened. Well .. my car is playing up, so looking at getting that fixed and then trading it for a Supra or similar. I'm away on a stag doo on Friday coming. Ohh ... I've lost over a stone by going to the gym and can't believe I've been keeping it up.
That's all for now ... can't be bothered to write any more and I'm just about to make a fried breakfast ... nothing better than Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Beans and Fried bread in the morning.

Why is the DOS path character "\"?
Found a very interesting (ok ... to those geeks out there) article why MS uses a "\" as a path seperator character, where as those in the *nix environment use the "/".

Many, many months ago, Declan Eardly asked why the \ character was chosen as the path separator.
The answer's from before my time, but I do remember the original reasons.
It all stems from Microsoft's relationship with IBM. For DOS 1.0, DOS only supported floppy disks.
Many of the DOS utilities (except for command.com) were written by IBM, and they used the "/" character as the "switch" character for their utilities (the "switch" character is the character that's used to distinguish command line switches - on *nix, it's the "-" character, on most DEC operating systems (including VMS, the DECSystem-20 and DECSystem-10), it's the "/" character" (note: I'm grey on whether the "/" character came from IBM or from Microsoft - several of the original MS-DOS developers were old-hand DEC-20 developers, so it's possible that they carried it forward from their DEC background).

Thought he was an good Rap Artist and at times some of his worked rivalled some of the top Rap Artists.
One of Eminem's closest friends was killed early Tuesday in a seedy nightclub along the road made famous by the rap superstar.
Proof, a member of the rap group D12, was hit by gunfire at the CCC club on Eight Mile, the dividing line between Detroit and its northern suburbs. Police said he and another man were shot in the head. The other man lived but was critically injured.
Officers responding to 911 calls found the bar empty when they arrived, and police said the victims were taken to hospitals by private vehicles.
Proof, real name Deshaun Holton, was dead on arrival at St. John Conner Creek, an outpatient treatment facility that used to be a hospital.

Studying Again
Ok .... thought since I managed to pass the last exam without too much trouble (yeah right), I would give the next one ago ... So I've been, for the last few nights, going over the Study Guide for Test 180.
This morning, thought I'd test out my knowledge and did a practical exam. Guess what!!!!! I failed.
*bollocks*
Think I'll have to spend abit longer studying and might even have to knock myself up a quick LPAR (Logical Partition) on one of the p595's we have sitting here at work, to help me.
Side Note:
I hate the way IE dosen't support PNG's. Really is a big fooking gripe of mine.
